Outdoor spaces that work hard

Preparation comes first

Most driveways that sink, crack or rock underfoot fail because of what is underneath. Before any surface goes down we dig out to the right depth, remove soft ground and build up a compacted sub-base. On a driveway that has to carry a car every day, that work matters more than the finish you see.

Drainage and edging

Water needs somewhere to go. We set falls so rain runs away from the house and towards a suitable drain or soakaway, rather than pooling by the front door or against the wall. Firm edging along every side holds the surface in place and gives it a clean line against lawns, borders and paths.

Patios, paths and garden spaces

A patio should be level enough for a table and chairs, drain properly after rain and sit comfortably against the house without bridging the damp-proof course. We lay patios and paving paths to link the house, garden and gate, and can take on wider landscaping at the same time.

Replacing an old driveway

If you already have a tired driveway, we will look at whether the base can be reused or needs digging out.
